Prosport Boost Gauge from Project Sokudo now installed after a lot of mucking around! Makes this bloody annoying beep when it turns on... anyone had this drama with them?

Pretty sure they all do it mate by design, to tell you its powered on haha. I do believe you can mute it, ask Ollie he has the same gauges.

The rotors look like the old style RDA rotors before they started offering slotted and dimpled as standard. The calipers are stockies.

    #867930 Turbo troubles

    Posted by SR14WA on 25 August 2015 - 06:51 AM

I've never ran a BOV and sheet is fine. If you got a ceramic turbo your gonna have a bad time without a BOV but our wheels aren't ceramic so no worries brah. My turbo has nearly 300,000KM on it...

And yes, you need to set your motor to TDC using the crank, pull your CAS, align it correctly using the dots on the CAS, and then reinsert. That *should* put it close to +15, then get a timing light out, trick the car into timing mode, and tweak. All this is on the FRSport guide if you google "FRsport sr20det timing guide"

Well no because my radiator sits lower than my intake plenum...which has coolant running underneath it...the yellow funnel bucket gives a high spot...like a temporary header tank essentially.

    Ah that makes sense :thumb:

    #867629 Clicking Noise

    Posted by SR14WA on 14 August 2015 - 01:41 PM

Why don't you just pop the bonnet and rev it using the throttle body and try to isolate the noise further?

#867406 installing poncams, timing way out

    Posted by SR14WA on 05 August 2015 - 06:53 AM

Again... one does not simply remove the timing cover. Unless you want to take the head off and put a new head gasket on, and do all the work associated with that.

    #867109 Boost Controllers - Options

    Posted by SR14WA on 14 July 2015 - 05:33 PM

i always thought nistune was the poor mans ecu option but with limp mode , flex fuel and boost control it seems too good to be true :? but i did hear the boost control was limited (max psi)

Better believe it. For features it's basically better than a PowerFC with easier tuning if your willing to spend the dollars on NisTune software.

    #866589 EOI: Track Day

    Posted by SR14WA on 09 June 2015 - 05:22 PM

Matsuri is a drift event - as much drifting as you can fit in over 2/3 days depending on the event, originating in Japan. No comp, grass roots level get as much driving in as possible event,

#866138 Cast vs Forged, and weight of wheels.

    Posted by SR14WA on 21 May 2015 - 06:15 AM

Only if you plan on crashing.

There is a marked difference in weight, as I've come to learn which can affect things like turning a tyre. But for grip I wouldn't think it'd make a massive difference, and certainly aren't going to just snap under load... I know you said "extremes" of grip racing, but your realistically not anywhere near that yet are you haha.

JDM Rims for Sale Australia always have awesome rims up for sale for a decent price. Theres a bloke on there who ships direct from Japan.
