Hey my names Damien and I've bought a sil80

Here is a little about myself, I'm 19 and a 2nd year h/d mechanical apprentice and also a beginner manager at my local eagle boys. I've always enjoyed working with anything mechanical as you will find out throughout my childhood vacuum cleaners portable air cons etc have all been disassembled and parts left everywhere :P I'm fairly cluey when it comes to using my brain but sometimes i lose all logical thinking ability. I live in the dirty south as some people call it which is where i like it :)

Little bit about the car, its a 1993 sr20det 180sx its got 170kms manual and is pretty stock.
mods when i bought the car:

    - FMIC ( which they cut into the fan and shroud to fit pics coming)

    - Boost gauge

    - Some aftermarket rims

    - Body kit of some sort

    - Superlow wornout yolo spec stock suspension

    - Yellow sticker

    - and a possible tranny swap I'm suspecting

so the main goal here is to get her registered and on the road by Christmas, hopefully.

next few posts will be of the car and later I'll have some of other bits and pieces, feel free to ask anything about the car :)

enjoy my road to registration  saga

thanks taarks for sending me a new o2 sensor, got my old sheet suspension out which wasnt as hard as i thought.

only problem was most of the nuts were half round when i tried taking the old suspenion out ending me in cutting some nuts in half with an angle grinder, job done.

the car sits at legal height now... just

i also got new tyres put on some kuhmo ecstas ku 21s or something similar not a bad price for 150 a tyre.

I managed to get my car onto stands today so i could change my gearbox mount because the other one was fracked and also because when i select reverse my gear knob rubs on the handbrake?? read somewhere that a worn out mount could cause this but the new mount didn't :/ any suggestions?

Pretty sure my car has a lsd, as it spins doubles on concrete but its probs just wishful thinking.
I still have a few other pieces to install but they can wait till I'm a bit healthier, hangovers suck.
    Pics will be up shortly

The new ones are a pain in the *rabbit* to get in dropping k frame slightly lifting engine loosening tranny mounts only just got them in. Never again

Been ages since my last update but collecting parts with minimal apprentice wage :( but yet again thats what a credit card is for. So gktech is my new friend and have ordered some small parts to help with passing pits and general feel of the car.
Small list left, bits like window needs replacing and a real good clean, cleaning up abortion of wiring which is under the dash and headlights :/

Got a couple hours with the car today taught to girlfriend how to cut and crimp connectors so she made a basic headlight sub harness for me :3 while I had the mission of removing the old alarm/immobiliser wasnt too hard when out of the 20wires out of the box they only cut two ignition wires so easy fix.
New problem no interior dash lights and dash isnt working :(

So headlight wiring got sorted after many gours and many headaches so my high beam came on when park or low were off, they also came on for 20 secs when the car was turned off, wouldn't turn on fully at all. Problem was a mixture between dirty combo switch and also having a small brown plug connected that comes of the bottom of the combo switch.
So new sub harness was made and it looks pretty sexual too me got some deutsch plugs from work heatshrink so it doesnt look like some hack job now
:) greatly pleased aswell when my gktech order Arrived today lotsa goodies to put on car now

So went to collie with broken car and came back with a less broken car i think thats a win. Basically i put a new clutch in the car saturday morning put throughout bearing around the wrong way, snapped gearbox stuff went to collie with gearbox in the boot spent 3hrs in pit lane putting it in to spend 20mins on the track till my water pump belt snapped and almost cooked the motor.

All in all collie was a great success
