yeah if its wired correctly you hold the button in and turn ignition on keep holding it till the beep stops :)
it will remember if you have the 12v constant wire hooked up correctly and will stay off until battery dies etc

Sounds like your gearbox mate :(

100,000km on an SR20 is nothing major. Timing chain ftw!

I thought It looked quite fancy too :-P

Got small ones to give away for people to rock, not the massive side piece though, it wasn't cheap!

What! That's news to me... If always wanted to frack off the ebc and go ecu controlled. If you can do that and map sensor I see almost no need for aftermarket ems anymore

#865654 Quest to improve throttle response/reduce lag

Posted by XxOLIVERxX on 06 May 2015 - 02:45 PM

Basically I need to get a VCT intake cam and cam gear as they have the oil feed hole for the actuator inside the actual camshaft. There is no way to feed oil to it without the passage in the cam regardless of dowel pins and locations etc

    #865591 PZP - Review

Posted by XxOLIVERxX on 05 May 2015 - 12:55 PM

PZP is a very decent workshop in my opinion, havnt had much work done there however Tom has tuned 3 of my cars and always done a great job.

Their fab work looks decent, but there are a few other places to get things fabbed who are just as good. Pays to shop around

been pretty slack with updating this so here goes:

pic of the gauges installed and at operating temperature
    ASI Procool 52mm Alloy radiator

3.9 ratio diff shim-locked, cleaned and painted. if you want one of these Homeslice Customs offer it as a service.
cool shot of the rear end with new diff installed
current engine bay: new additions are GKTECH over the raditator catch can, 850cc SARD injectors, 3" crazy luke intake pipe with plumb back bov return port
and some pics of it in the pits and on track at ADGP Driftkhana Round 2 now rocking business signage. Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook...customs?fref=ts
ft another Silwa member chillin in the background :P
driftkhana was fun but i did pretty badly, wasnt used to the car at all having not been able to drive it due to E plate license, wheel alignment done the day of the event, khumo tyres i haven't used before and to top it off blowing off the hotside intercooler pipe right near the end of my best runs. ohwell. next time will be better.

by then i should have a plumb back bov setup to improve response and hopefully stop the pipe blowing off when snapping throttle shut. we are also going to weld a nice bead around the cooler pipe to hold it in tighter.

its also alot laggier than i would like which is kind of annoying, once you drop below 4K you got nothing at all. which lead to way to many clutch kicks and too much handbrake. kinda miss the VCT... might investigate into getting that working, or other options to give it some low down torque. on boost shes awesome, drop out of it and ur fracked.

so overall minor teething issues but im sure il do better next time!

frack yeah. I'm in. Paid entry last night. Bring it crumz :P

Need to get used to the car a little before the event as with its new found power will be abit more of a handful than I'm used to

It was very satisfying seeing this drive home under its own power.  :thumb:  regardless of wheels pointing all different directions and missing most panels. best part of all, i no longer have to help the fool work on it!  though hes not bad at playing cars for a computer geek  :tease:

okayy so i didnt realise id skipped ahead of the timeline abit. and new pics are late as i can get any decent ones in its current position (currently undriveable)

gauge install, was quite painful, wiring isnt my favorite kind of work. also struggling hardcore of how to adapt the water temp sensor to fit in the stock position, dont want loose wires near coolant next/turbo, or cut up rad hoses. but the oil pressure and boost were easy enough. oil pressure sensor required use of aeroflow Male 1/8 BSPT to female 1/8/ NPT thread and then it screws right into stock position.

here's the engine bay side of the battery relocation, positive post was from jaycar. thick plastic so nice and insulated from the chassis. can also spot the boost gauge sensor tucked away neatly near the fusebox.

now the bootaaay. once again flat blacked the whole inside, a good clean and removed anything un-needed such as boot trims and carpet, electric antenna and mounted the battery.

Next to deal with was the CAS leaking. i installed my clear GKTECH CAS cover and noticed within 2 days there was a little puddle of oil sitting inside.. running down and dripping out the bottom of the CAS and down the side of the engine/timing cover. lovely! more work to be done...

    stripped cas down

might do a DIY thread on rebuilding CAS if people are interested. pretty simple only issue iv found is actually getting a new seal. nissan wanted 40$ and 4 weeks from japan. so i found the measurements and found a seal i think will work on ebay for like $4. just waiting for that to rock up now... painted the rocker cover to match my wheels as it needed to come off for CAS re-allignment anyway and i was a little curious to see how clean the motor was inside. i was pleasantly surprised :D

sooooo back to the body work. pleb before the owner i purchased from clearly knows nothing about body work. found un-set bog filled the drivers sill panel, if you cant mix up bog.. don't even fracking try to apply it!! or try to respray the car in sheetty single pack paint either. whoever it was you ruined my first layer of paint you bastard! haha -_-

so got to work and gouged out all the old bog (pretty much fell out) and then me and the old man attacked it how it should have been done the first time.
also welded in a piece of sheet steel to repair the torn open chassis rail. (dont judge the welds.. gasless mig lyfe.)

time relevant progress pic: this garage sucks for taking pics!

some fine fibreglass engineering with help of a piece of angle iron. this sideskirt was also snapped in half from the accident and very poorly repaired. needed to be re-snapped in half and re done from the start.

next purchase will be diff or injectors/rail/lines/fpr. what do you guys run for 98 and e85? 1000cc? stock fpr or sard etc? cant make my mind up which way to go... im chasing the better part of 300hp and not much more. would rather the flexiblity to run both fuels than have a dyno queen.

untill next time! when it moves out of the garage for some good pics, orrrr the s15 comes home and starts donating its organs to better cause. untill then, just imagine how awesome the paint scheme is ;)

Yes hummed and haaaad about pinstriping or not. Was thinking maybe a 3 or 4mm black one. The masking line on the rear is right on the edge of the boot lip though so not sure how pin stripe will go down on that part. But I do agree it will look a abit neater with it.

More pics to come tonight when I put some stuff back on

added some red and gold to spice things up abit.  was hard coming up with something that hasn't been done already but went ahead with this and think it looks pretty crazy  :thumb:  :jump:

still gotta put things back on like side skirts, mud flaps, front bar etc, done abit of polishing and cleaning up, putting all the seals and door handles back in. stripped rear windows of peeling tint while they were out too. with bodywork almost done and my S15 coming home this wednesday its time to get onto the fast bits next!  :sil:
