That's a dope flux capacitor!

If the bend at the front on the top was underneath, it would look even neater, but I hope it all goes through alright.

yeh i would have done that if i was a perfectionist, i also woulda had it drop down on the left side of the intake pipe aswell so you completely cant see in smile.gif

killer build.

but it doesn't count! he bought it like that tongue.gif

sucks about the sticker man. removing high mount for pits? or gonna try get it engineered?

pffft, i put some pretty stuff on it tongue.gif

gonna make up a box for it to cover it up completely and ill try my luck, similar to a stock turbo heat shield cover.
if that doesnt get through ill swap a stock onto it, then get it engineered after, cause apparently it takes about 5 weeks for permits to be approved

How much does it cost for engineers to check it ? Do you know?

I got the simple permit mods like pod, fmic, bov etc for legit 20 something dollars for all of the minor mods I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO DO THE SAME, that 30mins in never ending licensing centre could actually save you from getting a yellow it's happend to me 3x on different cars so i gave up on non-permit mods lol

im not sure how much it costs, but the general consensus seems to be 600-800+

where do you get permits for simple mods for? iv printed off the modification application form, ill do this for all the big stuff and get it engineered in due time, but yeh what about simple sheet like pod and fmic? they make this whole process very confusing haha

I literally went in and asked the lady for permit mods she said name them and put em all down as i said them, they were all minor shieet and she printed it off in seconds, i took my wrx over the pits with those permits after they requested them the 2nd time round and ye worked sweet as seemed way too easy to be true to me as we'll ahah

Btw that "big black box" actually looks way better then i would have thought lool go to some private pits and doubt they would be as curious as a majority of government centres, I'm guessing tho.

went to pits....they didnt say anything about the highmount so that made me happy smile.gif but still got an annoying list to finish

worst thing...cant drive it cause im an idiot sleep.gif when i put stock front suspension on, on the drivers side i forgot to tighten up the top 3 bolts, so now i cant get around because of 3 bolts sleep.gif

list is
- wheel nuts to mate properly (mine were too short for the extended wheel studs on stock wheels, so i put washers under each nut tongue.gif)
- modification application for suspension (i still had coilovers on the back)
- too low
-too loud
-guard liners
- LF wheel bearing has too much play ($100 from CBC for new hub)

edit - by "cant drive it" i mean they didnt give me any time on the defect and i was supposed to get it towed home...

Thats an awesome list considering. I'm pleased to hear that box worked so well.

Good on you for trying something new and having it work. I'm sure you will have that list sorted over the weekend.

yeh im very happy it worked, never thought id get highmount and gate through pits smile.gif
weird thing is they didnt even pick up on my bov :S

wont be over the weekend though, its too low because the pipe to merge my gate sits very low even on standard suspension, so i need that re-done but cant drive it. will probably go over monday so im given time to drive, then ill get the pipe done sometime next week

I didn't think guard (fender) liners were that important, most people have them removed when fitting aftermarket bumpers and fenders. My old Silvia passed with no fender liners.

And for your stock suspension sitting too low, I used (I think they are called) spring blocks. They wedge inbetween the coils stopping them from compressing under the weight of the car. I don't recommend driving too far with them on though.

I was told from an inspector that its to protect the wiring harness, which is fair game until your tire quickly chews through the liner too.

I swear every pit list has a suspicious wheel bearing, which 99% NEVER has any play.

Yeah Iv always had trouble with guard liners as well. Would be nice to find somewhere who doesn't care about them because there frackin hard to find a set in good nick without paying crack prices.

In regards to the suspicious wheel bearing, Iv been failed for 'brake caliper leaking fluid. No fluid leak to be seen. Caliper and line was bone dry. Think they just chuck things in like this so they can justify failing you for stupid sheet
