So i decided to move the 14 to weekend/track day duty's when its finished and buy a stagea as a daily + tow car.

Found this white one cheap that was pretty stock and seemed decent. Its a 97 RS4 and has done 180,000 kms. I will start doing all the small mechanical things first before i look into adding power and suspension mods.

Mods
- 33 calipers
- Enkei wheels
- Defi boost VSD
- Gay turbo timer
- Whiteline sway bars
- Blitz 3" Exhaust

Things on my to do list so far are to:
Change out HID's
Skim rotors and new pads for the brakes
Swap headunit from the 14 into this
Go around and fill in a couple of missing screws and an inner guard
Fix misfire
New cv's up front
New normal sized battery
Fix rear headliner
Remove defi VSD and Turbo timer
Do 100,000 service
Fit exhaust
New rear tyres
Fix park lights
Fix LHF headlight

Having trouble de pinning the ecu on my 14. I can see the little plastic tab that holds the pin in but is there anything else that needs to be done at the same time? Ive only managed to get one out so far.

Well i bought a new daily for when i get rid of the ford (if that ever happens). yes it is auto but that will be the first thing to get changed since i have 90% of the parts already. Dont really plan to do much with it, just the usual mods but ill be keeping stock airbox and piping for that oem engine bay look.

Overall car is good, has the normal vct rattle and a rust spot or 2. I got it for a very good price which makes me happy, especially since it has logbook service history from brand new. More pics to come when i do something more exciting with it.

So a few weeks ago, maybe a month even i decided to buy a new reliable car because i could feel the type x's time on the road coming to an end. I decided on an auto xr6t ute because, 1. Power, 2. More power with minimal mods, 3. Can tow stuff and fit heaps of other stuff in the back. So far it has proven to be very handy.

I am looking at doing some small mods to get it up in the 300rwkw range, however i cant decide on what mods. It seems you can get this power level by just turning the boost up a smidge, upgrading injectors and getting a tune. My first problem is i hate the idea of doing unfactory mods to a car this new. Next, when your up at this power level the stock intercooler is near its limit especially if i decide to do a mad standstill so i have been looking at getting a F6 intercooler or the PWR intercooler which is about the only one that is a complete bolt on replacement and doesnt require cutting of anything to fit. The other problem being the factory intercooler piping is plastic and is a bit temperamental when you turn the boost up, i dont really want to put my boot in it and blow a pipe in the middle of nowhere, and obviously i dont really want to put in metal piping because its super obvious that its not factory.

So at the moment i am leaning towards getting the PWR intercooler, some injectors, a cat converter (just to free the exhaust up a little and hope to hit my power goal with less boost) and a tune.

so a few months ago i bought a type x for quite cheap but it also needed a fair bit of work. for now ive just slapped it back together untill i finish the silvia then i will build this properly.


things done so far:

swapped out the silver painted interior for normal black interior
changed dodgy door cards
swapped out china coilovers for tein ha's
52mm china radiator
manual conversion + change of engine
2871r .64 + earls braided lines
kelway manifold with ceramic coating and 38mm gate
installed 2 way diff with 5 bolt halfshafts
5 stud conversion
bought some super awesome rotas

will get some more pics up but heres one for now
