  1. Hey mate, If you are talking about the cam caps, i found this article that says the size is M6x1.00, it says in the paragraph "WHY DO THIS?" down the bottom of the photo, however if you are still unsure, remove one and take it in with you as a sample, that way you can't go wrong http://i66.tinypic.com/2j4ubg1.png
  2. Hey, So title is a bit misleading cause I cant change it, but it isn't a capacitor, it's a diode I believe, and its in the transmission control unit, I was hoping someone could help me identify it, I have spent a couple of hours now trying to google and search and I cant figure it out, even a circuit board diagram if anyone has one, anyway any help is highly appreciated. It's position on the circuit board is "Z19" http://i68.tinypic.com/15hiltt.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/eskh80.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/2j103s9.jpg
  3. At work we use plastigauge to measure the oil clearances, on diesel engines and everything seems to work out fine, they get thousands of hours from high torque applications, and i actually don't know what else you would use to measure it?
  4. Just wondering if anyone has any wiring diagrams for the reverse lamp switch? I tried to hook it up tonight, and lights didn't work, switch has continuity when reverse is selected, but both the wires that go to it have 12v power? I have soldered some stuff in the engine bay and may have stuffed it up, just need to know what wires i'm looking at An edit, i've checked continuity from the plug at the tail lights, all the way to the drivers door, and that's all okay, that is a green/white wire, but when i got into the fuse box, (Bottom fuse right hand column), and from that to the tail light plu
  5. Thanks, yeah i thought that was the case but just wanted clarification, That pretty much answers everything there, thanks for that, Wow? I've never known them to sit on anything over -20 to -25
  6. Hey guys, so i have a few quick questions about my swap i have just done, my tacho isn't working, is this because ca18 clusters aren't 100% compatible with sr20 clusters? I did get a conversion harness because dog chewed my standard one, so not sure if they have a fix for that in the harness or what, Also my favourite things in the world, vacuum lines, the amount of time i've spent looking for answers for these is stupid, so under the inlet to the throttle body is 2 6mm vacuum ports, and next to them are 2 4mm ports, i have the left 6mm connected to wastegate, bov, cold pipe and now boost gau
  7. Cheers guys, yeah she ordered me one that was apparently for a rwd, and it was the fwd one, found a second hand one now anyway, because i refuse to pay $800 for one from nissan haha
  8. Thats funny because on their system, it was rwd coupe? And nissan just called me back saying their diagram has a nose cone as well? Might have to look at bit further into it
  9. Is there any difference between a starter motor with a nose cone, and one without? Basically i need a starter motor for an s14 sr20det, and the picture i got, one off ebay, has no nose cone, i went into an electrical shop, and the one on their file has a nose cone, would that be fine to get, seeing as it doesn't (guessing here) change the throw out position, or where it throws out?
  10. God damn it, i knew it'd be something stupidly simple, i've never had a bov plumbed back haha, Thankyou very much, now i know i can rip that sucker out
  11. S14 SR20det, This hose that runs from the intake, along the front of the rocker cover goes into a rubber hose that has been cut, and for the life of me cant figure out where it goes, or find anything online, it doesnt go to the cold pipe, because that spot has been taken by another breather hose, (assuming its a breather of some sort) http://i59.tinypic.com/mkzy4p.jpg
  12. How do you know it's a spark issue? Are you getting power to the coilpacks? Change spark plugs? Coilpack harness grounded? Check ignitor chip condition/plugged in AFM plugged in? Could be an airflow issue. I'm just asking these because it's what I did to get my car sparkin. I know it's a spark issue because i have the coils plugged in, and one of the spark plugs in, and earthing it on the chassis, spark plugs and coil plugs worked in previous engine, not sure where the ignitor chip is, coil pack harness earths to the little rail, and afm is plugged in, might spray some contact clea

  14. Okay so, i'm getting no spark, i've checked the cas, and i'm getting power to it, i'm not sure on where to go from here, all i have is a multimeter, what steps do i take in diagnosing the problem?
  15. Just put the head back on the ca, did all the timing, marks all lined up, connected it all up, started her up, ran a bit rough, even feathering the throttle, then heard a loud scraping noise, and engine stalled, now it won't even turn over, pistons stopped roughly in the middle, not sure what happened, any ideas?
