  1. Hey my names Damien and I've bought a sil80 Here is a little about myself, I'm 19 and a 2nd year h/d mechanical apprentice and also a beginner manager at my local eagle boys. I've always enjoyed working with anything mechanical as you will find out throughout my childhood vacuum cleaners portable air cons etc have all been disassembled and parts left everywhere I'm fairly cluey when it comes to using my brain but sometimes i lose all logical thinking ability. I live in the dirty south as some people call it which is where i like it Little bit about the car, its a 1993 sr20det 180sx its g
  2. So I trailered my sr20 180 home early from BDA5 after getting intimate with the sand on V8 race, which destroyed the front bar and skirts, and showed my fmic who's boss! After that car was running rough and i wasn't making any boost which i thought was due to a crack in the intercooler; hence not being able to make sunday! After having a closer look at the car this morning i noticed oil leaking onto the compressor housing from the hotside piping. I took the hoses and intercooler off and sure enough fmic was full of oil (not just your normal residue...). I also looked under the turbo and the wh
  3. Hey guys, so I'm new to this forum. I'm looking to buy a 180sx, but not many options are arising. I'm willing to build it myself to an extent but I'm unsure. There is one car available, good condition, body is straight and engine is good, but it isn't registered and it's yellow stickered (ride height and a few other little things). The other options is a 180 with a built engine, but needs a big end rebuild. The body is straight (needs a good deal of paint work) and the interior is good too. So I'm stuck between the two. So which one would be easier to do? Registering and taking the yellow
  4. Hey All, Thought i would share my newest project, My 1990 Nissan 180sx with a CA18DET, Recently purchased the car for $1200 registered which is the only reason why i jumped on this, I had never been a fan of the CA's but i had never owned one either, After the very short period of owning this CA its starting to grow on me and I am loving it more and more, Pics off original gumtree add, http://i.imgur.com/eyn1IYd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6kIrR5K.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5ZbnvMj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0McnmOR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Gotfmpk.jpg So after a quick chat with the owner, I was in
  5. Good Morning Lads, So I've been lurking around on the forums for a long time, reading countless articles and build threads. I started posting a bit lately and so I've decided to introduce myself properly. My car history is long. I got my first car before my licence. A sheet bucket of a St184 Toyota Celica complete with hole in the muffler, Advanti 17"s and clear coat peel to rival flaky pastries. Since then I've had a Magna, 380 and an Xtrail which I still have (makes picking up car parts from gumtree easy as). But the car that started my obsession was this. a 1993 Nissan NX. This is how I
  6. Hi all, recently purchased a 180sx, the high pressure power steering hose had a leak in it, got my hands on a new one, after much difficulty wiggling the old one out, I cannot get the new one in. Anyone here replaced it or have any tips? Photo 1 is of the hose Photo 2 is how close it is to being in position, the rubber has to line up with the metal plate and a bolt goes through both, I cannot seem to move it any closer to where it is now where it screws into what I believe is the rack, I cannot seem to screw it in, the thread does not seem to be biting (I realise it's not inline
  7. Hey guys/gals So I recently got a set of these reinforcement plates for my subframe in my 180sx since I was going to swap a new subframe cradle in. Just wondering where the hell some of these pieces go.... I know where the 2 big pieces go and the 2 right angle pieces go. Where do the other ones go T.T http://i.imgur.com/0NlLsOB.jpg A subframe for your reference xDDDDDD http://i.imgur.com/G13bx49.jpg

  9. HI Guys! I'm new here. I'm currently looking at upgrading my 180sx stock front calipers to some S14's. I'm just wondering what kind of new brake lines I'll need if I don't want to trim off the banjo bolt? Do get some braided 180sx lines or do I need S14 lines? Regards
